Although selfies are lovely, you can’t beat a video just for you! We film it during the journey, recording the best moments, and package it so that you can take it home to show your friends or keep it jealously amongst your memories. So, remember, keep your head up and smile.

Day 1: Arrival at Marina di Bibbona

Guests make their own way to the Park Hotel Marinetta in Marina di Bibbona by 4pm. Meeting with the conductor, presentation of the tour and introduction to the use of E-bike.

Day 2: Marina di Bibbona-Baratti - Campiglia Marittima - Marina di Bibbona (approx. 90 km)

The route is mainly on the flat, departing among the renowned vineyards of Bolgheri and the area known as Maremma Pisana, where we will stop off at a wine cellar for a quick visit and wine tasting. We will cycle along a dirt track to San Vincenzo and then continue on the cycle path that runs alongside the pine forest next to the sea, as far as Baratti, where we will visit the Etruscan necropolis and the village of Populonia. The return route is through narrow lanes between the farmers’ fields, with a short climb to the village of Campiglia Marittima. A long descent takes us back to the Via Aurelia, which we will follow back to Marina di Bibbona.

Day 3: Marina di Bibbona - Lajatico - Montecatini V.C. - Casino di Terra (approx. 83 km)

Leaving the sea behind us, we will wind our way through the hills around Bibbona, where the route starts to get a little more challenging.
We will then set off on the long but pleasant climb to the little medieval village of Miemo and, from there, to Lajatico, hometown of Andrea Bocelli and the location of the Theatre of Silence, an amphitheatre nestled among the hills, built to commission by Bocelli.
From the village of Orciatico we can either take the dirt track which leads to the wind farm on the mountain ridge, or the tarmac road which winds between the gently rolling hills to Montecatini Val di Cecina, where we can visit the former copper mine, and take a look inside some of the underground tunnels.
After the visit, we will head downhill to the valley of the river Cecina, cycling to Casino di Terra, where a minibus will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.

Day 4: Casino di Terra - Montecatini V.C. - Volterra - Marina di Bibbona (approx. 80 km)

Climbing back on our E-Bikes, which we left at Casino di Terra, we will tackle the gentle climb to Montecatini Val di Cecina, looking towards Volterra, surrounded by gently rolling hills which suddenly become steeper just below the town, creating the cliff-like geomorphological formation known as ‘le Balze’. Within its long city walls, the historic centre of Volterra hosts an array of churches, museums, ancient buildings and shops selling handmade products, which are well worth a closer look. Leaving by the southern gate of the town, we will head to the village of Mazzolla and then continue downhill along a dirt track to Saline di Volterra before returning to Marina di Bibbona.

Day 5: Rest day

A free day, to relax in the wellness centre at the Hotel Marinetta, swim in the heated indoor and outdoor pools, or choose from the numerous other proposals available.

Day 6: Marina di Bibbona - Monteverdi - Caselli - Marina di Bibbona (approx. 71 km)

On the day dedicated to the Metallifere hills, we will start off by climbing to Castagneto Carducci, the town named after the poet, Giosuè Carducci, who spent part of his childhood here. We will then ride along the twisting road though the Mediterranean vegetation to Monteverdi Marittimo, where we will stop off for a special tasting of local products. Passing by Canneto, we will find ourselves in the heart of the Monterufoli-Caselli nature reserve, a green area covering nearly 5,000 hectares. Continuing along the track, we will then reach the Passo delle Golazze Aperte, where we can take in the magnificent view of the Bolgheri plain below and the Tyrrhenian sea beyond, with the islands of the Tuscan archipelago. An easy and well-deserved descent will take us back to Marina di Bibbona.

Day 7: Marina di Bibbona - Castiglioncello - Rosignano Marittimo - Marina di Bibbona (approx. 61 km)

We will start the day cycling through the flat and peaceful countryside around Cecina, continuing on to the pleasant hilltop village of Rosignano Marittimo. We will then head downhill to the renowned beach resort of Castiglioncello. The return journey will take us along the road that follows the long stretch of sandy coastline, passing by the “White Beaches” of Rosignano and the Tombolo di Cecina nature reserve.

Day 8: Marina di Bibbona - Magona - Querceto - Guardistallo -Marina di Bibbona (approx.
51km) o Marina di Bibbona - Magona - Querceto - la Sassa - Caselli - Marina di Bibbona (approx. 73 km)

Upon reaching the nearby town of Bibbona, we will ride through the Macchia della Magona, a vast protected area carved up by a dense network of itineraries, and then continue on towards Querceto, a small group of houses built around the castle, home to a renowned wine cellar. At this point we can decide to return via the “on-road” route, tackling the numerous up and downhill stretches to Guardistallo and Casale Marittimo, or we can opt for the more challenging “off road” route through the Monterufoli and the Macchia della Magona nature reserves.
